This visit is designed to follow up on the evaluation of recurrent UTIs visit, we will review:
Active care plans
How prescription medications are working and if you are experiencing any side effects
Adjustments to the care plan as needed.
**If we order lab or imaging, you can use insurance to cover those costs. Urine culture orders will be sent to the lab of your choosing, if we decide to do PCR testing, this will be mailed directly to your house for you to collect and submit.**
If you are pregnant and/or experiencing fever, flank pain (back pain located in the kidney area), nausea/vomiting, generalized muscle aches, along with typical urinary symptoms, please seek in-person care.

I’m Karen Waskowicz, a board-certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and nearly a decade of experience in urology and women’s health. No. You simply need to be physically located in Utah or Idaho at the time of your visit.

Visits are completed online through a secure platform. You’ll answer a brief health questionnaire, and I’ll review your symptoms, history, and prior testing to create a personalized treatment plan. Most visits are completed quickly and conveniently—without a waiting room.

Most appointments can be made same or next day. In many cases, treatment can begin the same day, depending on your symptoms and whether testing is needed. Prompt care is a priority.

Yes. When appropriate and safe, prescriptions, including antibiotics, can be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

Urine testing is often recommended, especially for recurrent or unclear symptoms. If testing is needed,we can order labs to any outpatient laboratory that is convenient for you.

If you have an electronic health record (EHR) account, called elation passport, results will be shared securely through messaging. If not, we will contact you directly by phone or text to review your results and next steps.

Care is focused exclusively on urinary tract infections. Current treatment includes acute and recurrent UTIs. We can evaluate you for persistent urinary symptoms and if unrelated to an infection, refer you to a urologist in your area.

If testing is negative or symptoms suggest another condition, we can discuss alternative causes and refer you to a nearby urologist.

Your care doesn’t stop after the initial visit. If symptoms persist or worsen, follow-up guidance and next steps will be provided to ensure your safety and comfort.

Yes. Care follows current urology and telemedicine guidelines, with careful screening to ensure telehealth is appropriate for your situation. If in-person care is needed, we will guide you accordingly.

PCR (polymerase chain reaction) urine testing is a highly sensitive molecular test that detects the genetic material of bacteria and other microorganisms. Unlike a standard urine culture, PCR can identify very small amounts and a broader range of organisms.
